Today the class looked at SEO for bloggers. We covered a range of SEO techniques and then hunted for more! The focus was on creating great content, and we also looked at different types of content that could be used. Search engines don't "read" images and animations too well (although they seem to be getting better) so it's best to stick to chunks of text to start with, and use good image captions.
We also looked at page rank and how link-juice works between sites (like bad plumbing, as it turns out).
Can't wait to see what the students all come up with for their two weekly blog posts - next week is our first hand-in date so make sure you check out the student blogs over there in the blogroll >>>

In this class each student will start off by setting up a new blog, focusing it on their chosen creative path. We will be sharing and learning together as we create a social network presence and add content to our blogs.
